Welcome to the home of Fishing Rod and Fishing Reel repairs, this is the Sports Service Centre.... owned and operated by Paul & Sylvia Thomas. 

Paul began working in the sports industry in 1973 at Cromb and Merritt Sports in Cashel Street Christchurch, as a fishing tackle salesman and progressed to running the workshop in 1980.

Sylvia and I decided to start our own sports repair business in 1992, repairing rods and reels for retailers and warranty repairs for the the importers of all the leading brands:- Shimano, Daiwa, Ryobi, Penn, Abu, Mitchell etc.

We are both experienced in freshwater, sea and big game fishing including winning the millennium Hohoura one base. Between us we have over 60 years’ experience in the tackle industry.

We have been repairing fishing rods and reels in Christchurch and Canterbury for over 24 years. We are supported by a great team of products specialist and our focus is always to give our clients the best possible service using proven products at a fair price. Our reputation has been built on quality customer service, honesty, superior knowledge and skill.
